1999 Plymouth Voyager starter

I just installed a new starter but after I put it in and hooked the battery back up I turned the key it acted like it was going to start but went to clicking like a machine gun. I checked my conections they looked good what am I missing. Ty

First check to make sure the stater flange is secure against the case sometimes it may just been too loose causing it to make bad contact with your flywheel. Next check your ground and positive leads to be sure they are secured. Try that let me know

And make sure you have a charge on the battery.
