I was on the highway cruise set at 70mph, all of a sudden the rpms jumped up to 3000 and I started losing speed(flat, no hill), the check engine light started flashing, I pulled over checked the tranny fluid(good), I tried to drive again rpms constant 3000, gained speed slowly to about 45mph and couldn't gain, pulled over again and checked all fluids, waited about ten minutes started up and drove on like nothing ever happened accept the check engine light is still on.

CEL/SES On

What you need to do here is have the computer scanned for OBD2 codes, there's a problem within the engine management system that caused the light to turn On, this is your starting point of diagnosis

Did that today, thankyou, and spent the day researching, turned out to be the Mass airflow sensor. Mechanic said I needed to replace it, called a mechanic friend and he said to pull it spray it with Brake parts cleaner, blow it out until it shined again and replace, then pull the battery cables to reset computer. The van is pulling way low rpm's and smooth idle. It's kinda freaky to drive it. Thanks for your quick response Rasmataz
