Well my car overheated on me really bad all the way to the H and I took it home oppened the radiator and there was no water so I added some then I turned on the car with the cap off on the water stayed level after words the next day it did the same thing so I looked and I didn't have and anti freeze so I bought some put it in and then let the car run to get the mixes after that the at drive fine but the tempeture was staying at 3/4 of the way and hen I would drive would slowly go to a half and when I would stop went back to 3/4 and now I drove it to school about 9 miles and it was at 3/4 so I turned on the heater and it cooled it down then tried the a/c it worked but wasn't as affective and now I looked under my car and there was a leak I touched it and it smells like just asfault but it looks and feels exatky like water my question is what could be the problem and how much would it be to fix it I was thinking it could be a thermastate or water pump but not completely sure please help me

Is that supposed to be one really huge sentence? With no punctuation, I can read it at least five different ways and none of them make sense. The only thing I got is there's a leak and the engine cools down if you turn on the heater fan. That indicates the radiator is not giving up the heat to the surrounding air. If this had come about gradually over a longer period of time I would suspect corroded cooling fins on the radiator. Since it appears to have started all of a sudden, the first thing to check is if the radiator fan is turning on.
