My 1999 jeep grand cherokee will start but will stall after 3 seconds as it settles into an idle I already replaced the fuel filter, no change. Could it be the fuel injector or the fuel pump?

What I recommend it this. First, go to our home page and go to the DIY section. Under that section, look up how to check fuel pressure. There is a video and directions. Check that first. You will need a fuel pressure gauge, but most parts stores will lend them to you.

If that is good, I need you to check for vacuum leaks on and around the engine. Also, the idle air control valve (IAC) is located on the throttle body. Remove it, clean it, and then have a helper turn the key from run to off a few times. At the end of the IAC is a pintil valve. It should move. If it doesn't, make sure there is power to it and replace it if there is power. If no power, trace wiring for damages. The IAC is responsible for maintaining engine idle.
