I have a 1999 jeep cherokee. Some times when you try to start the car you get nothing, but most of the time it starts with no trouble at all. I did replace the battery and cleaned all the conections, but I still have the problem, any ideas?

Possible bad alt. Or neutral safety switch.

It is also possible starter has developed "dead spot".

I would start by removing starter and have it bench tested at most autoparts stores.
