What causes the key to get stuck in the ignition? Replaced the tumbler and the ignition switch?

Try rotating the steering wheel, does it lock?

Initially, I could to that but after replacing the tumbler and the switch the key will not go all the way back even turning the wheel. Before the changes the car made a horrendous noise like when you start it and it is already running.

You can't put the key in the lock, position? Something isn't right, I'd have to look at it.
