Possibilities here could be the brake switch, cruise control actuator and the cruise control unit.

Try retrieving diagnostic trouble code/s
Amigo, Rodeo & Trooper

Turn ignition switch to ON position. Depress cruise control main ON/OFF switch to ON position. Depress cancel switch to ON/OFF position 3 times in 2 seconds.
Monitor CRUISE indicator light on instrument cluster. CRUISE indicator light will flash a corresponding number of times with DTC set. If no DTCs are set, CRUISE indicator light will flash steadily. See Fig. 2. DTCs set will be displayed in order, beginning with 1-1 with last code displayed as 1-4. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCs) table.
DTC output can be canceled by driving vehicle to a speed greater than 6 MPH (10 km/h) or by depressing the RESUME switch.
