I was driving my car stopprd at a stop sign it died and I was unable to start it. I had noticed it starting to run rough and it had gotten progressively worse. The cylinder chambers are black and sooty. The only way the car will start is if I disconnect the fuel line on output side of filter, car will start and continue to fun til all gas is out of the line. The car has good spark. I have replaced the rotor and rotor cap; ignition module; fuel filter; fuel pressure regulator. Prior to this I had just replaced the shift solenoid. The car wouldn't shift out of second gear and had gone into safe mode. It was on the test drive after replacing the solenoid it died. Not sure if that had ing to do with the problem I'm having now. Please help.

Start with a fuel pressure check.
