1999 Honda CR-V Now Hard to start - cranks and cranks after it dies. Won't restart. I let it sit for 30 minutes - retry--then it STARTS. Runs rough. Poor engine performance. Only does this after engine warms up. Same symptoms in warm or cold weather.

1. CR-V ran perfectly up to Dec. 18 2011
2. Had full tank of gas while sitting for 3 weeks.
3. Started, ran well on Jan 6 2012.
4. Drove across town that day. Parked. Returned to CR-V 10 minutes later. Engine cranks and cranks, but would not start. Very good battery. Terminal cables secure.
5. Let it sit for 30 minutes. Cool down.
6. Engine cold then RESTARTS. Runs rough. Want's to quit on highway and at intersections. Rough idle Poor engine performance.
7. Checked spark plug wires at plugs and distributor.

RESEARCH and my mechanic says there is a possible TSB?

Nice site :-)

Check fuel pressure and scan for codes first.

Thanks. Will do. Any TSB's on this problem?
Do the '99's need exhaust/intake valve adjustments every 30K? Or is that a rumor?

If the vehicle is operated in the range of 110-20 degrees F then you need to change the timing belt at 105,000 sooner if operated in severe conditions. Severe conditiions are considered dirt/gravel roads and temps above and below the temps given. There are no tsbs on the vfuel pump. Ther eis no requirement for the valve adjustment.
