My headlights started flickering a few weeks ago and the gauge started showing discharge on and off so I replaced the alternator with a new one. It still does the same thing but now shows way overcharge on a regular basis and occasionaly a discharge. I replaced the alternator and still have the same problem only now it will show a high overcharge and occasionally still a discharge. The alternator is brand new and the battery is only about a year old and the belt is tight

Might want to have the computer controlled of the alternator field generation circuit checked-double check all wiring/connections

Any applicable trouble codes? I'd use a digital multimeter and double-check the charging system.
