I have a 99 Cobra mustang that when I bought they said it had a chip on it. I am trying to find the chip to take it out because I cannot tune my car with it in. I cannot seem to find out where the chip would be located any ideas?

What tuning are you doing?

It is usually on the pcm input side. You have to remove the pcm to gain acess to it.

No, the thing I have tunes it without a chip. But it won't let me tune it because it has a chip in it. So I'm just trying to take the chip that is in it out but I can't seem to find it.

All the chips I have done and seen are in line between the pcm and the body connector.

Are you having a driveability issue with it?

I see you took off the cover, but if you take off the harness, is there like an adapter there?

Yes, I unplugged the harness, would it be in the little plastic adapter that all the wires go into?

Ok, thats just the connector. Have no idea where they would put it. I dont think there is a chip unless he replaced the entire computer instead of just adding the chip. If that is the case, you are dead in the water unless you get a new pcm or try and have it re flashed to oem.
