Engine Stalls When In Drive?

Hi, I have a ford galaxy automatic, 1.9 tdi. It is a V reg. When I start the engine and put it into drive D it cuts off, - how shall I put it-. It dies out completely, there is no power at all, the car doesn't move. When I start it again, it starts and runs, it doesn't move forward, I can only reverse. Weird right?

Proberbly a drive band or clutch problem, this will have to be checked by a transmission specialist, you can do a diagionstic scan just to see if there is an electrical issue, start here.
