I have a 1999 ford explorer xlt 6 cylinder with 124k. When I put it in reverse it just creeps slowly, now it doesn't move in reverse at all. It still drives in all three gears forward.( Low 1, 2, and drive. Shifts smoothly have no trouble. What can it be, is it worth repairing?

Hello,

Ok, you are the only one who can really answer that question. Here are some questions to ask yourself.

Is the Body and frame in good condition?

Does the engine seem to be in good condition(do you feel it will last another 100k miles or more.

Are there any major concerns concerning the vehicle in the near future?

Next call around to your local tranny shops and get some estimates on a rebiuld.
