I have a 99 ford expedition 5.4 litre just been rebuilt by a shade tree mechanic it idles great but as soon as it gets under any load it feels like it starves for fuel so I changed the fuel filter and did, t help it also burns fuel really bad

Is the check engine light coming on at all. If so, you need to get the codes read and go from there.
