I have a 1999 dodge durango 4x4. 5.9 liter. I already replaced the ecm, the dealership flashed it. The problem is that it only runs for a few days then it dies. I take the negative cable off, wait about 10 minutes, then it will re start. It does this regularly now, stranding my wife each time. Any suggestions on what else could be wrong?

I have the exact same vehicle and had the exact same problem. I know this sounds way too simple but after I replaced the ECM and it still died on me I finally found a mechanic that figured out the problem. You need to replace the battery. Since the car keeps dying it has weakened your battery and somehow affects how the wiring works. I know it sounds crazy but trust me and try it. I tried everything else for almost a year and this is what fixed the problem. Good Luck!

Thank you very much. When I initially had it tested the battery was reading that it had a weak cell. I will get a battery today.
