Hello, my name is Kristina, and I have a 99 Chrysler Sebring 6 cylinder and I just recently checked the oil, trans fluid, and water. Everything seems fine. But the other night when I was driving home (at about 55 mph) all of a sudden my car jerked real bad like I slammed on the breaks then kicked back into drive and the "service engine soon" light came on. I made it home, but then the next day I got in my car, I only drove a few blocks down the road and my car is making a real funny noise. Almost like my brakes are locked up and the brakes are rubbing against the tires or something like that. My stepdad thinks it may be the cv joint? But he doesn't know much about cars. PLEASE HELP! I WILL LOSE MY JOB IF I HAVE NO RIDE! :( THANK YOU!

Go to Autozone and have it scanned for free-

Have the computer scanned for code/s-you have a problem within the engine management system that caused the CEL to turn on-This is your starting point of diagnosis, finding out what's going on.
