Will a transfer case of a 99 tracker with a 2.0 liter engine, work in a 99 tracker with a 1.6 liter engine

The transfer case bolts to an adapter on the back of the tranmission so with that it should but I would call a wrecking yard as they have hollender catalogs and it will tell them they can tell you for sure yes or no.
