1999 Chevrolet Suburban AC Problem

AC system seems to be stuck in defrost mode. Even if I turn the knob to move to front vents the air is still blowing on dashboard with NO air coming out front vents. Rear AC works fine. Air is still cold, but takes longer to cool front of SUV.

Most likely the actuators are operated by vacuum motors and the vacuum hose is broken or disconnected. Most systems have spring-loaded actuators to default to the defrost setting for safety when vacuum is lost. Your feet might freeze but the windshield will be clear. That hose will be shown on the vacuum hose routing diagram on the sticker under the hood.
