I have a 99 cavalier and need to bleed it so it wont over heat how ever, a friend broke the valve screw to bleed it. I was wondering if perhaps there is another way to bleed it, to get the air out?

Run the engine (idle) with the radiator cap off for about 20 minutes. As the thermostat opens the air trapped in the system will escape throught the opening for the cap.

Also, if there are small water hoses whic come from the engine to the coolant reservoir one of them can be disconnected to allow air to escape along with removing the radiator cap. Be careful the water gets hot during this process.

You will have some difficulty in getting all the air out of this. The best way to fill them is using a vacuum fill. That always gets all the air out.
