1999 chev astro Ls v6, 189.000 mi.
Drivers door has master power window buttons with an "all the way down module when held down for a specific time" on drivers side.
This window worked in the down mode but will not go up again. The passenger side works with both buttons but the drivers side will not work.
The drivers switch has power in both positions but simply will not function.
What is wrong and how do I fix it please?

Maybe a faulty window motor? It takes more power to go up than down. In the diagram, the dark blue wire is voltage for up, brown wire is ground. To go down, they reverse. For up, if the blue wire has good voltage and the brown wire is a good ground, I suspect the window motor. If your missing voltage or ground for up, suspect the master switch.

Thanks JDL, for the rapid reply and the confirmation of my fears. Using your proceedure it turned out that the motor is indeed the culprit and must be replaced.

Thanks again
