Is there any way to completely drain the transmission fluid including the torque converter?

No, you have to use a flush machine to do that.

If you pull the pan and remove the screens, there is a 7/16" pipe plug that can be removed to drain the side and a portion of the torque converter. It is under the front portion of the screen that is shaped like a dog-leg(pan-handle). You will accomplish about 7.5 to 9 quarts of fluid removed, out of the 12 quart dry(total) capacity. That is about the best you will do as far as a drain and refill.

Draining the lower pan and the side cover still leaves the torque converter full which cannot be drained. I will be very surprised if you get more than 6 or 7 quarts out that way and the entire capacity is 15 quarts, not 12. This still leave a flush machine as the only method to perform a complete fluid change.
