Front headlamps go dim when driving battery and alternator tested and are ok. When I put on full beam the back to normal they look like they are not on at all for 2 mins then back to normal. There is some sort of motor on drivers side wheel arch but dont no what that is for.

The lamps are controlled by the general module, perhaps there is a fault there. The car might well need to be scanned for possible fault in that system, I recommend seeking out a shop that has the proprietary equipment to scan the car, generic scanning is not going to be conclusive.
