I rescetly got a car giving to me that they were going to take to the junk yard I went thru it got the thing to run but when they replaced the timing belt the motor knocks that is probably why they were going to scrap it is it worth messing with?What do I look for and how can I fix it

If you can short each cylinder out to find out which one is knocking then do that if not get a camera like at harbor freight that is cheap and put down spark plug hole to look for damage on cyl walls then pull pan and check rod bearings.
