So I bought this car about 6 months ago. Was overheating ever since then. I got it to stop overheating by running without thermostat. Eventually got bad enough wouldn't start anymore. So I am doing head gaskets and I have already had heads machined down as they were warped. Took off.006 about! I got OEM gaskets for the rebuild also. I checked the engine block and believe it to be out of specs. At just under. Oo3 book is telling me.002 is acceptable. So my question is have you/anybody you know done hg's on subaru engine that the block was at these sp ecs. Or do you think I will be OK with putting the heads back on as is. Thanks in advance " pondering"

That extra.001" isn't going to be a problem, but it's rare to find even.003" non-flat on a cast iron block. You might want to lightly draw a flat file across the surface to see if there's some casting flash or old gasket material interfering with the measurement.
