Engine will shut off

If I start my car it will idle for a few minutes then it will shut off. If I an driving on the road it will act like it is starving for gas and shut off, then when I try to start it, the starter will sound like it won't engage. Aftera few tries it will start

Have it scanned for codes. Check fuel pressure. Key on, engine off, and engine running.

Check battery voltage. Make sure starter is receiving power and the solenoid is being activated when key is put in start position.
