i have a 98 saturn sl that we have replaced the serpentine belt and tensioner .... even though i think that we have the belt back on correctly the gages still do not register anything ... when i turn the key to the on position i can hear a ticking in the fuse panel .... i did start the car and it ran for a second with the gages not responding but it quickly died and will not crank back on its own ... any suggestions?

What gauges arent responding?Do you have a multimeter to do some testing?Have you had the battery tested yet?Made sure the battery cables are clean and tight?
