On a really old car sure you can but on the newer one they all have some amount of draw that's why they have to measured. Some cars you can have 50 milli amps of draw as normal spec.

Ok had a old micronta and set it at 500m and tried it. Needle jumped up some then dropped back to zero. Act the same as test light. Unhook for a little and hit it again and same thing. Seems to biuld a little power and when you test it it relieves the power. Is that possible

You would have to build a smoke machine to send smoke down the vaccum line that doesn't go to the engine off of the canister purge solenoid. You would also have to jump the vent solenoid to close it then send smoke into the system. Also you need to see what the fuel pressure sensor reads with the gas cap off on the scan tool. To make sure the sensor is reading correctly.

Guess mine dont do that. Wished I had a better one. Will see if I can get someone to do it. So the line from the front to the back might be leaking? I will try to check some more things when I get time. Thanks

My friend has one there really outdated in there day they were great. They take keys and cartridges for every different car you use it on. So it would have to have the keys for all the carts it comes with.I have a OTC genisys I love it. With the smart cable that eliminates all the inserts they used on thsoe. Its bidirectional so you can command solenoids on and off etc. Works great.

Yeah the inserts are the same as the keys on the snap on scanner. The cable I have has eliminated the inserts. The Matco pro scan plus or cornwell tech force 2. They read a lot of computers and data there just not bidirectional. You can pick up used ones pretty reasonable.
