Came to an abrupt stop. Now my brake light on dash is on.

Make sure e-brake is off. Make sure plenty of brake fluid. Does the braking work normal? Next, just for testing, You can unplug the connector for brake fluid level switch and e-brake switch, one at a time, see if lite goes out. May not tell you anything, some systems unpluging the circuit may cause the lite to come on, just a thought. Any applicable trouble codes?
