Clearing codes does nothing. The issue is always there.

Thermostat may be a good start. Low coolant level could be the issue.

The last is a blown head gasket from overheating

Replaced thermostat, no white smoke coming from exhaust, or leaking in plugs, now when I started it today it didn't want to start & engine light still on could it be a bad thermostat? Please help!
