Transmission leak

I have a 98 Plymouth Breeze. We just got this car have recently noticed a transmission fluid leak from under the car, by the drivers side wheel. Also have notice fluid on top of the transmission. We thought that it was from filling it but I wiped it up and it has appeared again. What could be the problem?

The trans control module could be leaking from the top and leaking down around the oil pan. Keep in mind, the pan could be leaking too. If the fluid is on the top facing the front of the vehicle, my first guess is the TCM.
