Does it all run on one belt?Sounds like air compressor or pulley going out. Lost all power to van got in driveway, turned on next day it worked. Was told it sounded like a air compressor going out and big bucks. Does it all run on one belt. Does compressor have to be replaced in order to keep from loosing all power to vehicle.

If the compressor has failed and the pulley can no longer spin you can remove the compressor and get a ac bypass pulley made by dorman.

If the air compressor clutch pulley and bearing still turn freely then you can still run it without running the a/c.
