Transmission is stuck in 4WD

98 navigator is stuck in 4wd I tried n with my foot on the brake an reverse an disconnecting the battery still does not click into two wheel drive plz help its my only car I have. It use to make a clicking noise when I would switch it from 4x4 to 2 wheel d but it dont anymore can I manually take it out of 4x4 if so where do I look? Can you point me in the right direction

The motor on the transfer case sometimes sticks or fails. Get a shop to check it for you to confirm.
