1998 GMC Sonoma Ventilation problems

When I try to change the air flow to the floorboard (from any other air flows), it skips it and goes straight to the defrost. Could this be a problem with the sensor? Please contact me when you are able. Thank you.

The mode doors are operated by an electric actuator/motor. You can access it from under the drivers side dash. If you observe the linkage while you try to select a different mode you may be able to see the problem.
