I purchased this 1998 ford windstar minivan December 2013 as a work vehicle. This will be the 3rd time I have replaced the wiper motor on this vehicle in the past year. The wipers just stop working at any given time. The door ajar light stays on and chimes, and every now and again the break light will come on. I read that this may be a bad GEM module that houses the wiring for the wipers, doors. Etc. Before I purchase the module I wanted to make sure it would correct the problem. I am a single female and cannot afford to keep sinking money in this car. Please Help. Thanks in advance for any answer.

The gem module will have to be installed by a pro due to it has to be programmed to your car. The gem module should fix the door ajar unless it's a switch as that is connected to module as well However the brake light going on may be an abs problem like a sensor or wire so a pro will h ave to scan it to see what it is.

Thank you so much for the response. I am truly grateful. That is not a problem for the brake light and door ajar. The main thing is changing out the GEM module. Will it correct the issue with the wiper motor. This is the main problem I am having.I read that the module is where the wiring for the wiper controls ( hi low interment in ) are. I have a mechanic that can install for me.I have wiper washer that still works but the wipers will not come on at all. Thank you again for your response.

If the mechanic scans the vehicle it should show that it is screwing up he'll probably do that first or should. He should be able to by pass it to do a quick test to see if motor is working correctly.
