I need to change my oil pan gasket, but the problem is I don't have an engine hoist, and from what I've gathered looking online, it is necessary to lift the engine out to change the gasket. What I need to know, is that is it possible to drop the pan and change the gasket without lifting the engine out of the truck?
thank you

You can skip removing the torsion bars and messing around with the ride height. Remove the engine fan and let it rest in the shroud. Remove the motor mount nuts and use a screw jack just foreward of the transmission pan (auto) to lift the engine high enough to get the pan out. You may not even have to drop the front axle on 4x4 models.
