1998 FORD FALCON
On a hot day a strong smell of petrol in the area of the carbon canister left front wheel
there are no visable petrol leaks under the bonnet or at the canister
does the canister need replacing

I feel that the canister is saturated with fuel, the purge valve may be faulty, I would get the vent system checked before replacing the canister as if not it may just fill up and fail again
