My 98 ford explorer shakes violently when at idle. Ive been told it is my catalytic converters. What else would cause this problem?

A cylinder miss could or injector. Does it smooth out off idle? Has IAC been checked?Has it been diagnosed by qualified Tech?

It does smooth off after you give it gas. Was diagnosed by ford service dept. Dont know about the IAC.

Idle Air Control PCM regulates idle by controling air bypassing throttle. Remove use carb cleaner clean pintel and passageways. See if that helps idle. Truck have a TACH? If yes what is idle RPM?
