Started up car noticed the oil pressure gauge was flucuating and when I pressed the gas it would stick half way where it usually is. Well 5 minutes into my drive the gauge started to fluctuate minorly and it stopped fluctuating and stood still at a quarter of the gauge maybe a little less. No oil leak or codes, changed the oil pressure switch about a year ago with AutoZone one. The car ran fine no roughness and good reaction time. Will dirty oil cause this? Or maybe contaminated oil? Thanks

It may be the dash going bad or the sender was a cheap one and is causing the problem. Check your oil then check oil pressure manually with a gauge.

So when I get manual gauge do I plug where the pressure switch is at? And since I am there should I just replace the switch? Also how do you diagnose a bad dashboard? Thanks

A bad dash has to be seen if signals are coming into it but it could be a module bad as well and yes hook your gauge to where the sender is. Also test to se e if any voltage is comng to the sender as well.
