1998 Ford Explorer engine swap

Hi guys I have 3 questions. One can I put a 4 wheel drive motor in a 2 wheel drive truck without any modifying. 2. Can I install a newer motor out of a 1998- 2001 ford explorer into my 1998 explorer wihout any mods? And I need one more answer. Can I install a V8 5.0 L engine into a explorer that has a V6 4.0 engine? Thanks so much guys! Sincerely Noah Wright

The 5.0 has different mounts as well as other requirements computer wise. The 4.0 form a 4 wheel drive may need an oil pan change, other than that it should go ok. Check with ajunkyard as far as other years you need to make sure all computer hookups will work as connectors may change between years.
