1998 Ford Expedition wont stay running

My expedition is a 98 you can start it but it wont keep gas and its on you have to hold the gas pedal and you take your foot off idle down until the stars like it has no gas when it shuts off the battery sounds like its dead it just clicked with electronics work my fuel pump works and its feel coming out of the fuel filter

Scn for codes and check fuel pressure with a gauge auto parts rent it. Check battery for condition including load test

My '99 did the same thing. My problem was the IAC valve was sticking. Sometimes, you can "tap" on the IAC valve while someone else keeps it idling and it'll become "unstuck". It'll all of the sudden start running good again. This is very temporary and is only for diagnosis.

Btw, they say you can clean them, but I've also heard it may start doing it again. Moral of the story, put a new one on it and be done with it.
