Trunk opener

I had my heater/defroster blower motor go out and got it replaced. I never thought about telling the mechanics that when I bought this car used in 2000, my security system never worked - just the panic button, driver side door and trunk opener.
After they put everything back together, the car wouldn't start. I had to jiggle the ignition switch back and forth numerous times and then the doors would lock and the car would start. The mechanic said that it would cost another hour of labor to disconnect it again-not his fault as he didn't know. Anyway - I've been living with this for a week or so cause I can't afford another hour
but all of a sudden, my door and trunk opener would not work. I changed the battery but didn't work either. BTW the mechanic said he would look at it and if he could disonnect something in a few minutes to make it back to normal (alarm not working) he would do it at no charge. I think he pulled the chip out and it started right up before I left. It still will start up right away if I don't lock the door. This appears to be a chain reaction or something. Very irritating -
question is - do I have to take something computerized to the dealer or can this be fixed by a "regular" mechanic without the dealership exorbitant charges? Appreciate any feedback!

Sorry to say I do not understand your question very well so I need some inputs.

You have a remote transmitter that is not working?

From the ignition ON and OFF procedures, you have inadvertently reprogrammed the system to allow starting, however the transmitter was not programmed.

Try reprogramming the transmitter to see if it works.

REMOTE TRANSMITTER REPROGRAMMING
Except Escort ZX2
To reprogram all transmitters, cycle ignition switch from OFF to ON position 8 times within 10 seconds. After doors lock and unlock, press any button on all remote transmitters (up to limit of 4). With each button press on remote transmitter, door locks should cycle (lock/unlock) to confirm programming. Once completed, turn ignition switch to OFF position. Door locks should cycle (lock/unlock) one last time to confirm completion of programming. All transmitters must be
reprogrammed at the same time.

Escort ZX2
To reprogram all transmitters, cycle ignition switch from OFF to ON position 5 times in rapid succession. After doors lock and unlock, press any button on all remote transmitters (up to limit of 4). Once completed, turn ignition switch to OFF position. All transmitters must be reprogrammed at the same time.
