Have a 1998 Dodge Caravan. Recently the van started to surge and sometimes die during acceleration. This continues on during up past 25 miles per hour. I plugged in a code reader and 2 codes came up. P0443 and P1784. The P0443 is a purge valve. Where would this valve be located on this van? The P1784 is a transmission code. Where would I begin to look for trouble spots with this code? Could a code be wrong and be something else? Thank-you.

The purge solenoid is under the hood on passenger side. Yes, other issues could cause a particular code to set.
