1998 Chevrolet Cavalier starting

I have a 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier that will not start. Put the key in and nothing happens. Lights work, radio works but nothing when the key is turned. I just replaced my ignition switch hoping that will fix the problem. It still does nothing. What are my options before I have it towed to a shop?

If you just replaced the ignition switch, then you have 2 problems now, the original one and an immobilizer that is not programmed.

First you have to resolve the security system issue and then you are going to have to troubleshoot what the original problem was.
