I just replaced the clutch friction disc (car would not move in any gear when clutch was let out. With no tires on vehicle rotors will turn. When I put tires on and put it on the ground I hear grinding from engine bay and speedometer increases with acceleration but no forward or backward motion. I bled the clutch and pretty sure I hooked the shifter cables up correctly (they only seemed to rotate so far and hooked up to the trans axle just fine.) I cannot seem to get the half shafts in any further (there is about 1/2" gap from trans axle housing and inner half shaft.) Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Did you replace the pressure plate? I hope so as they are a matched set and must be replaced together

Thanks Roy. I did not replace the pressure plate. I put the old friction disc back in. I was told it still had life left. I crawled under the car while being shifted and the grinding was coming from inside tranny. Just going to replace the tranny. Thanks for your help.
