Hi I was wondering what are grommets and how many do I need If I am changing out both valve covers. The guy at the parts store said I needed it if I changed out the valve covers on a 1998 Chevy Camaro this is a 5.7L. I also see you have to torque the valve cover to 106 in-lbs. My torque wrench only goes up to 100 but I could probably get it to 105 in-lbs. Is this going to be a problem. Also could I use copper spray-a-gasket. It is a Hi-Temp Sealant and Permatexmakes this sealant. Here is a picture of it. I used it for my water pump gasket and water inlet on my 1992 cadillac deville. It worked great. I have had no problems so far with it. Thanks.

There should be 3 or 4 grommets per side and you sholdn't need the permatex as the gaskets should be silicone rubber. 106 inch lbs is 12 nm if you have a wrench that does that. Just don't be like a gorilla tightening the bolts down.
