Car cuts off as soon as I start it

Just wondering if anyone could tell me why my car cuts off as soon as I start it, this doesn't always happen but quite frequently to stop it from cutting out I just have to accelerate as soon as I turn the key or the revs just drop.

Thanks

Tends to happen if I drive it for a while then stop and start it again within 5 to ten minutes

If you hold pedal down on start does it still happen? IAC makes idle speed. If it fails to do so you stall.
