I have a 1997 nissan sentra with 168k miles. I have had it for 4 days. Now this morning when I try to start it for work I put the key in and it makes a clicking noise below the steering wheel and it does not start. It kinda sounds like the turn signal noise but its not I tried them. The lights work on high and cd player too so not battery. My friend(NOT mechanic or anthing) said it might be the alternator? But I have no idea. It work run it wont do anything. =( Really sad cuz I just spent 1400 on peice of garbage

Hi well don't get to discouraged just yet. If your battery is charged and you know you have at least 12 volts in the batt. The noise you most likely here is the alarm system has shut the car down I assume you don't have a remote for the alarm. LOCK ALL YOUR DOORS TAKE YOUR KEY UNLOCK THE PASSENGER DOOR SEE IF CLICKING STOPS IF SO ALARM IS RESET.
