Can not put gas in car

Please help I tried to put gas in my car and heard a swooshing sound then the gas all came back up and spilled everywhere. What might the problem be? My car is a 2004 Nisaan Sentra

There is a vent that allows air to exit the tank as fuel enters. If it is damaged, the fuel has nowhere to go. The air doesn't exit and the fuel can't enter. As a result, you fill the filler tube with gas then it either shuts the pump or spills out.

Have that checked and let me know what you find?

The problem you are experiencing is called the EVAP system in the fuel tank is malfunctioning, it is not serious, there is a lot of vapors in the tank and cannot escape because the vapor valve as malfunction. Try putting the fuel in very slowly so the fumes can come out.
