That's the Air Bag warning light, (supplemental restraint system). You see it light up for about five seconds every time you start the engine. The computer detected a problem, set a diagnostic fault code, turned the system off, and turned the light on to tell you. Your mechanic will connect a scanner to read the code, then he will give you an estimate for repair.
