I have replaced hoses and flushed the radiator, and replaced the cap, I have took off the pipe across the top of the radiator that goes to the coolant reservoir and cleaned it out(which was blocked). Now instead of the water blowing out the pipes or the cap, it's running through that pipe and coming out the hole at the top of the coolant overflow tube. It smells like it's running hot, but the temp gauge on the dash say's normal. Is it suppose to do that? I need to put antifreeze in, but afraid it's just gonna leak out again.

The cap controls the pressure so if you have a new acp and it's still blowing past it, that means your getting excessive pressure in the cooling system which could be due to a blown head gasket that would have been caused by one of the earlier overheatings.
